Laguiole is certainly the name of a knife and a cheese, but it is above all the name of a village in Aveyron, located on the Aubrac plateau. You will be able to discover a rich heritage, such as the imposing bronze statue of Georges Guyot "Laguiole’s Bull": the symbol of the Aubrac breed for the whole plateau, its Saint Matthew church and the presbytery of Laguiole registered as Historic Monument, as well as the chapel located on the Place du Foirail. While strolling in Laguiole, you will find many workshops and knife shops, and the one making the famous Laguiole knife, open every day all year long.
The Laguiole winter sports resort, Le Bouyssou, is located 10 kilometers from the village. You can enjoy 14 alpine ski slopes, the Nordic area sportsground as well as the slide run and marked snowshoe trails.
